Charlie's is a run of the mill dive bar in the heart of Rochester. Their food comes from Acme next door and is always delicious (although they have a more limited menu than Acme). Charlie's tends to be less busy, which I love and allows me to have a more personal night out with my friends. Also, they're DOG FRIENDLY!! Me and my pooches love coming in for a couple drinks any day of the week.
Side note: If you come in on a Monday, you'll most likely be served by the bartender, Paul. He is so kind, warm and friendly! A great person to talk to over a drink and some food. -

Came in tonight and there was a new bartender. Isabella? Anyway, it was terrible. I've loved this place for along time, but the new bartender has ZERO personality and it was like talking to a zombie. Still giving this place three stars because other than the bartender everything was still cool. But if I see her there I will be leaving!

Always good drink specials and the bartenders and bouncers are phenomenal. It's quiet neighborhood bar during the week and gets a little busier on the weekends. Becca and Dan are always accommodating and we look forward to seeing them every time we go there. The pizza is from acme next door and really good. Affordable!

A bit more upscale than their sister bar, Acme, you can stop in here if you want a peaceful vibe and watch more television. This bar shares the kitchen used at Acme, so you can have their famous pizza slices brought right to you, and placed next to your glass of whiskey served neat.
This place accommodates more diverse liquor selection and many bottled beers. The staff are quite friendly, and I never had any issues with my orders. There are a couple pool tables strategically placed at the end of the bar, away from the main traffic.
I prefer this spot over Acme because I can get the same food and not feel too crowed at the bar. This place is still really young (opened last October), so that may change in the future. -

To me this will always be the old Sports Page. I couldn't really tell the difference between the old Sports Page and what is now Charlies, but I had fun all the same. The prices were great as I think what I had was on special.
I didn't get a chance to go to the back (we sat up front by the long bar) but it looked like there was a pool table and darts in the backroom, which is more than what the Sports Page offered. I enjoy Acme's and I enjoyed Sports Page so I'm sure I'll enjoy Charlie's all the same. My first experience was a good one and I expect I'll be back sooner rather than later.
